"The Second Global Eco-Business Forum" was held in Beijing, China, on September 19, organized by Nikkei Inc. and Xinhuashe Global Magazine. Approximately 300 people attended this forum. We are a special sponsor of the forum and promoted the environmental performance of heat pumps by presenting panels and giving out Chinese brochures of the high efficiency heat pump technology.
For the keynote lectures, He Bingguang, Director-General Level, Department of Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection, National Development & Reform Commission (NDRC), China, talked about "Development of Energy-Saving and Eco-Industries by Cooperation between China and Japan", Yosuke Kondo, a member of Japanese lower house, had a speech titled "Effect and Potential of Cooperation between China and Japan for the Countermeasures against Global Warming", and Qian Yi, Professor, Department of Environmental Science and Engineering, Tsinghua University, lectured on "Recycling Economy and Sustainable Development - Practice by China".
Panel discussions were also held where experts from both countries attended. In Session I, Akira Yabe, Vice president, National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology represented us. He made a presentation on and discussed the development and the effect of Japanese energy-saving technologies and the potentials of energy-saving by improving the efficiency of heat pumps, under the theme of "Collaboration between China and Japan for Environmental and Energy Technologies - International Contribution by All Japan".
For the closing lecture, Hiroshi Komiyama, Chairman of Heat Pump and Thermal Storage Technology Center of Japan, talked about the theme of "Role of Japan in Developing Low-Carbon Society in China".
